Project summary

The project ensures safe, inclusive and quality education for children affected by conflict and climate change in Mopti and Bandiagara. It rehabilitates learning spaces, strengthens teachers’ capacities, and provides psychosocial supportwhile promoting enrolment and documentation for displaced children. Community mechanisms for child protection and social cohesion are reinforced, and schools adopt climate- and conflict‑sensitive preparedness and safety measures to enhance children’s resilience.

Why was the project developed?

Mali faces a protracted humanitarian crisis where conflict, displacement and climate impacts severely disrupt children’s access to education. Thousands of schoolsare closed, and displaced children face discrimination, insecurity and trauma. The project was developed to restore learning, strengthen protection and help communities provide safe, resilient and inclusive education environments for all children.
